An acquaintance made me an offer to sell me his house (he just moved out, bought a new house) and he says the house is worth 275k, but he wants to do this thing I don’t quite understand:
- Get the place appraised for 10K more (285K)
- Then he would give me 35K for a downpayment and I’d be paying mortgage on 250K
Why does he want to appraise it for more? I don’t get it.
I have been in mortgage for about 8 years now, and am looking to go into real estate full time, both as an agent and investor.
Since I am in the Phoenix area, I know there are many choices, but these two look the best so far. (KW-training and growth, Prudfential-Yahoo! Real Estate coverage and visibility)
Any ideas or details regarding these? Especially fees, training, etc. Keep in mind I may be new to the business, but plan on dedicating myself to this absolutely and do NOT want to change companies! This would be for the long term! And we have an eye to doing commercial development in the future, so is there an edge there between these two?
Not paying my mortgage will help to negotiate lower payments?
I have already try to negotiate give me lower payment but was not successful ( they only reduce my payment per month). I do not want to loose my house, but have a really hard time and can not afford the payments at this time.
BTW I have been making payments for 2 yrs.
