My husband and i just moved into a new apartment in phoenix az and when we first saw the apartment we loved it but after one night we started seeing bugs and i have a roach phobia and i want out of my leasing agreement! the apartments were condos in the 70s and it has so many problems and on top of everything i have been sick ever since we moved in and we are not sure what to do someone please help us! i have to get out of the hell hole apartment complex
I know at that price, I can’t afford to be picky, but I’d prefer areas with relatively low crime and warm weather. So far I think Las Vegas, NV (some areas are a little high on crime though), and Phoenix, AZ fit the bill.
I’m single, with no children, so condos/townhomes are fine, if I can find one for cheap.
I have a downstairs unit in Phoenix, AZ… Last week, the tenant in the unit above turned on the washing machine and left. It flooded for a long time, and police were called to knock down the door.
My condo was flooded (holes in the celing, walls hit) every room has damage. The water also hit four other condos.
I have insurance and everything will be fixed, BUT….
I know my condo will be ‘blacklisted’ (as my agent mentioned) because of so much water damage. If I try and sell it, I will need to disclose that it had so much damage.
What can I do about this? Shouldn’t the owner above be responsible? Though, i wouldn’t actually know how much I’d lose because of it.
Owne upstairs has no insurance, but HOA and MY insurance are fixing my condo. Not worried about repairs, but worried about the loss I will take when I try and sell.
I just got a job offer to move back to my home town in CO. to be a superintendent for a construction company that builds condos. I currently live in AZ. and work as a foreman at a roofing company. The offer they made me was 90k a year to go to CO I currently make 52k in Phoenix. Both my kids and my wife want to go. However I owe 252,000 on my house and its not worth much more. Also the housing market has takin a big drop in the last few months with many still on the market since Feb. 06. So do I bail on the house and move back to Co. or stick it out with the company that I am at and hope I can get to 90k in the next few years? PLEASE HELP!!!
Thanx for the anwser "it’s your own fault" but there are quarterly bonus checks fool. What do you do for a living school boy?

I am posting in this area hoping there is some sort of expert that can help.
I have a downstairs condo I own in Phoenix, AZ. I’ve had a great tenant for almost a year.
On Friday, the washing machine in the condo above mine overflowed and caused A LOT of water damage to my property and 4 others.
My condo is a complete mess, parts of the celing has holes, water is in every single room.
I don’t get how a washing machine can cause THIS much damage. I have never heard of a sensor not working that it would do this.. It hit a bunch of condos.
Can this happen? My insurance agent went out this morning, but when he knocked on the door upstairs nobody answered. The property manager is the one who told me on Friday that it was the washing machine.

I’m a single male veteran with no children. I want to purchase a home and was prequalified for 110k using my VA Home Loan. My girlfriend has a very high debt to income ratio and will likely file bankruptcy due to high credit card debt. I can’t buy anything with her in that shape. I don’t have a down payment, I do have the VA benefits. Home prices are more expensive than ever. How do I purchase a home on my own? In Phoenix, AZ the housing market seems out of reach and all that is left are small "apartment condos."
