tempe would be a great place for a college aged guy. ASU is very close by. I would suggest trying to find some roomates to share a house, condo,or apt with-it’s cheaper that way. i lived in tempe about 4 years ago-it was nice b/c i was 24 then but moved when my kids got older. they have some nice townhouses close to downtown.
do you have job experience? are you going to school?
obviously a job is very important so make sure you have that set up before the move.
i would say have at least 1500-2 grand with you when you move (the more the better). most places will require a move-in deposit, application fees, and you’ll need some cash for food, necessites, and fun. roommate rentals go for about 450-500 a month depending on what type of house, condo, etc you want. this usually includes your utilities too.
here are some websites to help you out.

good luck with your move!!
Move to Tempe – College Town.
You’ll need cash to get an apartment, food and a little reserve for partying.
why are you so young? u shld not move away……… idk ok??
either really… research apartments and call about what their deposits and the like will be. Tempe is more of a college "town" but there are lots of nice places in Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, etc. You’ll probably want a couple months worth of rent so you can secure a job and you’ll need transportation (public trans is not the greatest here).
