We will likely be relocating to the Phoenix/ Scottsdale area. What are the best schools or districts, best areas for families, low crime, etc. We are probably looking to buy a house in the 200K-300K price range.

i’ve signed a contract for a new home in phoenix arizona back in january. now with the mortgage rate climbing and the housing market cooling (quite rapid here in phoenix), i’m worried the value will drop and i’ll end up losing money. (the houses like the ones i looked at was going for less than 200 grand three years ago and when i signed the contract, the price was at almost 300 grand)(and when i get to sell the house later, i’m afraid i won’t even be able to sell it for the price i’m paying which is 300K) Should I try to back out on the contract and lose the deposit, which is a whopping 5 grand, or should i just go ahead and close on this house even if i don’t feel right? and is it too late to negotiate the price of the house since i’ve already signed a contract? it’s a new home that’s being built, so i don’t know if a negotiation is an option at all.. but any experts out there, please help.. any advise will be greatly appreciated..

I live in Southern California, so we’re by the coast, don’t get as many things in our homes. I heard in Phoenix, a friend of mine almost stepped on a HUGE scorpion. Is it true that you native people have to deal with this all time ? if so, is it hard ?…

HELP!!! Landlord is a fraud?

My husband and I rented a house in Phoenix, Arizona on August the 1st of 2008. We just found out that our landlord, is not even the owner of the house. A real estate agency informed us that our supposed landlord, is actually the one that should be renting the house! Our supposed landlord had a one year contract to be renting the house throught the real estate agency. HELP WHAT CAN WE DO?

Yes, we did sign a one year contract with our supposed landlord. We have a copy of every check we paid her for rent.

I have a Salt Lake City, Utah real estate investment business and have a pretty large client base. I’ve also done a lot of advertising with my cell number that I’ve had for 5 years now. I just moved to Phoenix, Arizona to start up a similar business there. People in AZ don’t want to work with someone with a Utah phone number.
What I need is some place to port my Cell number in Verizon wireless that is cheap or free. so that I can get a Phoenix number on my phone. That way both people from Utah and Arizona can reach me on a local number, but when I call, my cell will show my Phoenix number. Any suggestions?

My uncle’s house has a wall separating his property from his neighbors. The wall is an eyesore and does not offer enough privacy from his neighbors – he can see their yard and they can see his.

What are some creative ways he can hide both the fence and increase his privacy?

His home is in Phoenix, Arizona, so the type of plants that could be grown (and would be tall enough) are somewhat limited. Also, he has two dogs so nothing toxic, spiky, or otherwise potentially dangerous, please.

We purchased a house in Phoenix , AZ 2 years ago and recently sold the house on a short sale basis. The original lenders were based in Newport Beach, CA. We have never re-financed the house. Are we covered under California law as a non recourse loan even though the house is in Arizona? We have settled with the first lender and don’t feel the second is being honest with us about their terms. We signed papers with the second under protest in order to release the lein and close. Thank you for any help that you can give us.

There is a brand new home for sale in my area (Phoenix, Az) and it costs 100 thousand. Considering how the economy is, about how much would be needed as a down payment for that house?

The last big government bail out that was a catastrophic was the SanL.
Charles Keating used money from his Savings and Loan to basically finance huge expenditures. When it was on the brink of collapse, Senators met to try and help Keating. McCain was one of the Keating 5 Senators that met. He was a personal friend of Keating and they both lived in Phoenix. The Government had to bail things out and sold the assets in a huge fire sale type situation. It also affected the real estate market. Now once again, we are facing this crisis and once again. This time the very financial markets and Real estate are a very large contributor to his bundling contributions. Do you think this will spill over?
